Dinner at the Herrins was a blast!
Great time was had by all. We played charades,,, think this will be a recurring theme. Fabulous N.Carolina bbq pork. We want to all come back here again.
Great to see Margaret doing so well after her "tummy" upset last week.
Can't wait until the December dinner.
Missed those that were not there.

NewsFriends App on Facebook will feed updates
Just learned that if you get your kids to add the "NewsFriends" app to Facebook, then it will feed updates from the blog into their Facebook. This might be a good way of bridging the two worlds.

How does 5:30 sound for swimming (probably mostly boys? Hopefully not....) and socializing?
We could also start at 5 or 6 if some folks have a strong preference to get started earlier or later.....just let me know!
We will have a large pot of crawfish etoufee and rice for the grown ups (??? Sarah loves it as well...), and a big vat of Crystal Light lemonade will also be available. Here's a "Potluck Wish List" for those who can come.

Appetizer 2--chips and dip.....

Hamburger patties and buns
Hot dogs and buns
Stuff for S'Mores (choolate bars, graham crackers, and big marshmallows)

I'm putting this out there, so you can add your comments about attendance and organizing. Was prompted to do this by Betsy Walla who kindly got the ball rolling with her Comment on the August dinner. Scroll down to the 3rd Comment.

Monthly Dinner at the Murphy's
Good time was had by all. Swimming (boys mostly), Fajitas (great job Mike), Fellowship. Laughter. "Real" conversations with people we breeze past on Sunday mornings.
Talk of high schools. St. Thomas has already started. Tyson has homework already! Episcopal and St. Pius start in a few days. (get ready Sarah H, and Karges Sarah & Will, and Elizabeth)
The food was better than the best 5*** restaurant in town. Who makes the best cupcakes and best sesame flavoured corn and avocado salad? Amy and Carolyn: we are anxiously awaiting a Response with your recipes!
Mike subjected us all to a fun getting-to-know-each-other game. Who loves R-E-S-P-E-C-T by Aretha ,,,? who is related to George Washington ..?

Wish you could have been here. Please make sure you mark your calendars for the fall gatherings: Sept 22 (Bet Hunter); Nov 10 (Herrins); Dec TBD (Karges), and may involve some Christmas Carol singing.
Are we organized, or what?
Thanks again Sue & Mike -- we were all blessed by your hospitality.
Love Lynn (aka DK's Mom)
